Gallery Gift Shop
Bringing together the work of artists and the community is an important goal for the Grosse Pointe Art Center. Through our gallery gift shop, we provide artists with the opportunity to submit, show, and sell their work. The shop offers a unique retail space for one-of-a-kind, handmade items to be available to our shoppers during exhibition openings, artistic workshops, and general gallery viewing. Eligibility
The gift shop is open to artists ages 18 and over. Only original works are accepted. No commercial kits, prefabricated models, or hobby crafts. The Grosse Pointe ART Center reserves the right to reject any entry that is unsuitable or does not meet the guidelines specified. We also reserve the right to control artist inventory for an appropriate mix of work.
Acceptance
GPAC requires a 90-day commitment for consignment with an option for renewal. If not renewed at the end of the term, you must pick up the item(s) within 30 days. Items not picked up within this period may be donated for their full retail value and a receipt will be provided. We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage. Items should be covered under personal insurance policy. Artists must label each piece with the artist’s name and price. All jewelry must be submitted in plastic bags and be clearly marked with the artist’s name and price. Multiple pieces of jewelry with the same price may be combined in a single bag.
Commission
The Grosse Pointe ART Center retains 35 percent commission on all gallery sales. Commission checks are mailed bi-weekly (checks amounting less than $30 will be issued quarterly).
How to submit
Complete application form; be sure to include personal contact information and a brief artist biography.
Include a short description of work and an average price range.
Include web address or up to five digital photos showing samples of artwork.
Suggested price range is $5-$500.
When to submit
Applications will be accepted anytime during gallery hours. Please make an appointment if you are bringing work to the gallery.
