The newly formed organization of artists was dedicated to artistic excellence and sharing their abilities and knowledge with their peers and community and continued a tradition of community service especially during the war years.  Their support came by way of community art projects and contributions to the USO and Red Cross, expansion of art classes offered, and course credit and prizes awarded to university and high school students.
